Vota Ranch, Machakos
The newest addition to the ranch’s accommodation is also the largest: the Makuti Villa, built for families and groups who want to stay together under one roof instead of splitting across separate cottages.
What’s different about it
Where our single and double cottages are built for one or two guests, the villa holds several rooms under a shared thatched roof, with communal space in between. It’s the same construction style as the rest of the ranch: makuti thatch, natural materials, nothing that fights with the surrounding grounds, just scaled up.
- Multiple bedrooms under one roof, ideal for families or groups travelling together
- Shared living space separate from the sleeping areas
- The same hot water, Wi-Fi, and veranda access as every other stay on the ranch
- Direct access to the pool and farm kitchen, just like the cottages
Who it’s for
We built it after hearing the same request often enough to act on it: larger groups who wanted to stay together rather than book several separate cottages and lose the sense of being on the same trip. Extended family visits, milestone birthdays, and small group getaways are the most common bookings so far.
It’s the difference between a group trip and a group of separate trips happening at the same time.
If you’re planning a visit with a larger group, the villa is worth asking about specifically; availability is more limited than the single and double cottages simply because there’s only one of them.
